Bukola Saraki Fulfil their Bail

Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, have fulfilled their bail conditions and are pictured above leaving the court premises in a coastal bus.   Saraki, Ekweremadu and two others are standing trial for allegedly forging the senate order during the senate election in June last year. After they pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of forgery, the presiding judge, Justice Yusuf Haliru, granted them bail.  Part of the bail condition was that they must provide two sureties each that will have a landed property in Asokoro, Maitama, Wuse or Garki.

The so-called Erskine fire , which broke out on Thursday some 40 miles (64 km) northeast of Bakersfield in Kern County, has already claimed two lives, sent three firefighters to the hospital and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes. More than 1,100 firefighters have been deployed to battle the blaze, which has blackened some 35,700 acres and was zero percent contained as of Saturday afternoon. California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for Kern County. "It is a vicious wildfire. We are going to be committed to this for some time," Captain Tyler Townsend of the Kern County Fire Department told CNN. "A lot of communities are still in danger." Arik Air has sponsored the return tickets to New York for conjoined twins, Miracle and Testimony Ayeni

This is contained in a statement signed by Arik Air's Communications Manager, Mr Ola Adebanji , which was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos. The statement said the airline was offering the support in partnership with Linking Hands Foundation, a non-governmental organisation. According to the statement, the organisation has secured free medical treatment for the twins at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. "Arik Air will be sponsoring the twins as the airline’s own little way of not only ensuring that the Ayeni twins get needed medical treatment speedily, but also to assist the family in reducing some of the financial burden associated with this trip," it said. The statement said the Founder of Linking Hands Foundation, Mr Efe Farinre , thanked Arik Air for accepting to fly the twins and their family abroad. The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has officially clarified says Okah NOT involved

The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has officially clarified rumoured jailbreak and escape of suspected mastermind of the 2010 Independence Day bombings, Charles Okah, from Kuje prison. In a statement issued on Saturday, June 25, by spokesman of the service, Francis Enobore , he confirmed that two inmates being held for culpable homicide had escaped, but Okah was not one of them, and their escape was not via a jailbreak. “Contrary to speculations that there was a jailbreak in Kuje Medium Security Prison and that Charles Okah had escaped from lawful custody, I wish to state that Charles Okah is still in the prison safe and sound,” he said. “However, two inmates were reported to have escaped from the prison at about 1930hrs, though not through jailbreak. The inmates in question were awaiting trial for culpable homicide and have no relationship with Charles Okah in what ever manner as it’s being speculated.
